Who We Are

We are a comprehensive nonprofit providing pregnancy and postpartum mental health support services, to new, expectant, and grieving parents. We support families & caregivers struggling with emotions related to reproductive health issues, pregnancy, postpartum, adoption, infertility, and perinatal loss.

Our History

The story of WellMama began with a simple goal:
ensuring that no parent has to navigate pregnancy or postpartum mental health challenges alone. What started as a response to a lack of support has grown into a community-centered organization offering connection, education, and care. This timeline highlights key moments in WellMama’s growth and impact.

A Single Support Group Changes Everything
WellMama begins as a single peer support group, founded by Csilla Andor and Amy-Rose White following their own experiences with perinatal anxiety and depression. Despite being trained clinical social workers, neither had received education about reproductive emotional health — and resources were nearly impossible to find. Determined to change that, they created the support they wished had existed.

point in time: 2010

WellMama Is Born
Driven by the growing need they witnessed firsthand, Andor and White formally incorporate WellMama Maternal Mental Health and Support Services as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Eugene, Oregon — with a mission to provide free social support services to families during and after pregnancy.

point in time: 2017

Growing Impact & Community Presence
WellMama reaches a major milestone, supporting over 700 women in a single year and delivering professional training to more than 300 clinicians, educators, and community members. That same year, WellMama participates in “Climb Out of the Darkness,” a global event raising awareness of maternal mental illness.

Expanding Reach with the WellMama Warmline
