What is Google My Business? It’s an important tool to help businesses (especially local businesses) get found!
We’re looking for local businesses who need to get on board with a Google My Business profile. It’s not a website, but it’s a really important piece of your online business presence, whether you have a website or not!
Google My Business listings often show up at the top of (or prominently placed to the right of) organic search results. There are images and maps included in the listing, so visitors eyes are drawn to it right away. Visitors will also find the business name prominently displayed, hours of operation, contact info, website links, online ordering/scheduling links, and very importantly, ratings and reviews.
This area is often seen by visitors before they notice your organic search results so it’s really important to have one! You can create one from scratch, but first check and make sure that one doesn’t already exist for your business (sometimes that happens automatically). You can claim a pre-made profile for your business by following the instructions on Google. And a really wonderful thing is… It’s free!
